Harmonic Balancer/Stator Stuck
Ok, I am by no means a mechanic,
Has anyone experienced this...... I have a 00 V Star 1100 after changing to bobber style, and slowing changing and fixing things, the Starter Clutch went out. We changed it, but the bike ran like hell. After research we knew the timing must be off.
Went back in and installed the flywheel stator puller, and the stator/harmonic balancer would not come off. As we slowly turned the ratchet, the supporting bolt to the puller broke.
As we removed the puller we noticed that the bolt had split. How bad am I screwed, I was told I now need a new engine. Any help would be appreciated, or suggestions on how to remove the Stator/Harmonic balancer.
