mean city vs pacific coast seat mods

I've got a 650 Custom and at 5'10" feel like I could be back another inch or two. When I move back on the stock Custom seat, I rise up on that incline and don't feel like I'm sitting in the seat. In fact, it takes some quads to maintain that position, and I feel it when I get home.

Anyway, as far as comfort, the stock saddle's foam seems fine to me at 135 or so lbs. I just need a shape that would move me back a little. And, don't want to spend a lot. Btw, this is not going to be a touring bike for me. I ride 2-3 hours max.

Anyone have experience with having a seat modified by Mean City Cycles or Pacific Coast Star (PCS)? Both are affordable. With PCS I can't tell what they actually do to the saddle. The price is reasonable though, at $95.

Mean City will reshape for $40. But it goes up rapidly from there.

Another question: has anyone ever put a Classic seat on a Custom bike? I don't actually like the look of the Custom seat, but don't know if the classic shape would work or not (physically or aesthetically), given the different fenders. I assume the gas tanks are the same. And I'm seriously considering removing the pillion.

I'm considering reshaping the saddle myself, but would like a way out if I screw it up. If anyone has replaced their custom or classic saddles, and want to sell the old one, let me know.

Another option I suppose would be forward controls, but that seems like a bigger can of worms, and a lot more $$'s.

I have tried the Pacific Coast seat mod for my 1100. Did not care for it. Went with the Star solo aftermarket seat great seat for $$. Still felt great after 60000 miles.
