I was thinking the same thing when I was checking in today. I'm guessing it must be the time of year, since lots of us can't ride :(. We're experiencing Blizzard 2010 right now in northern Wisconsin. I was just sitting on the bike in the garage, looking out the window at the 14 or so inches of snow that we've gotten today. And it's still falling .

As I was riding home from work ,this morning (temp=30 degrees F) I was pulled over by a local cop. It seems that as I exited the highway near where he was lurking, something set off his radar gun, causing it to say it was being jammed! Neither of us knows what caused this, as my bike has very few additions to the stock electrics( but I suspect the Mercedes SUV that passed me as I exited might have solved the mystery)! I told him (after he told me radar jammers were illegal in Texas) that the only jammer I was interested in was for cell phones!

Subbiker,

I wonder if he just wanted to get a look at your eyes?
I think you are right about the Mercedes. Some of those luxury cars have them built in. Although I would not rule out someone on a two way radio. Wonder what they would do if it is built in?

Maybe he wanted to see if you had any antifreeze to be able to ride in 30 Deg weather?

There was a big turn out for the ride on such a cold day:D 300 or so.
26deg when I left the house. Got to find some better gloves fore- shore. All else was fine but the hands:eek:

Amazing, isn't it? Here I thought since a lot of us are shut down by the season, we'd all come to chat about our respective withdrawal symptoms, but I guess not.

10" of snow and 55mph winds Sat/Sun have pretty much put an end to the year for riding (if you get my drift:D:D:D)

So much salt on the road that even if it clears off it will be abuse of machinery until the roads are washed off. Ah well, 2010 was good, and 11 is supposed to be a lucky number.

Hope it is for all of us

Regards:)

I don't mind a little forced down time. It gives me time to do a little maintenance and try out some new mods that I otherwise wouldn't take the time for. I also believe that a couple of months out of the saddle helps keep the desire to ride alive. Time to spend planning rides and trips for the new season. I might even try spending time with my wife. LOL

Springer, about a year or so ago, Ol Sugar Bear posted one in the same vein that you are sayin (folks just talk together) did not work then either:( Just talkin sure beats nothin posted (imho):)

stargazer, sure hate down time on this end, the desire has never died here, but like it or not, that's the way it is when we live in the cold country:( Maybe spring is just around the corner?:D We will be ridin again soon. Everyone that still can, ride safe.
