Well folks, since the Dahlia is taking a break from letting me ride I decided it's the perfect time to do some mods. My buddy has a huge shop where we'll be working on the bike so I will be removing the wheels and masking off the rims. I'm then going to attempt a custom paint job of the spokes only. This was after reading memeber jonrwall talk about his wheel paint job.

I'm also thinking that I'll go ahead and move the floor boards forward about three-four inches. At least something good can come out of all this.

Pics will be coming hopefully in just a week...depends on how long the work takes to get her back on the road!

I look forward to the pic's! I love all DIY stuff.

I'm also interested in what you guys determine during exploratory surgery on the engine, got my fingers crossed that it isn't anything bad.

I'm hoping for the same thing Stratowart! I know the PO took the bike for a long trip from Baltimore, MD to Kansas City, KS last year...1200 miles each way. It only had 10,400 miles when I bought it and he did all the routine maintenance on it. I haven't even put 500 miles on the bike yet thanks to work and the weather, so I'm really hoping it's something silly.

This one here will have to wait...spent so much time just trying to get the bike running again that I didn't get around to this. I have the stuff though and am hoping to do it soon...but it will probably have to wait until the weather is non rider friendly.

FYI- The paint job I did on the wheels is still going. A few chips but not as bad as I thought. I expected all the paint to fly off the first ride. I look forward to seeing the pics of the spoke job.
