Looks like the previous owner had fucked with it to the point where the 17mm socket won't fit around it anymore. Any tips on how to get it out so I can change the oil? I don't want to fuck the case up, I hear it is a bitch to replace.

Can you get some vise grips on the plug just to break it loose? or take a 16mm 12 point socket and force it over the rounded plug? Hope this helps.

Can you take a photo of it and post it? This could help in us helping you.

I have run into the same problem working on cars and trucks over the years. I purchased a set of damaged bolt remover sockets made by Craftsman. Ive used these many times and they still work good now. I know Snapon and Mac also make these sockets but they are alot more money. try running the engine until the case is hot then try to remove the bolt with the damaged bolt socket. sometimes your local part stores will rent or lend out a tool.it wont hurt to ask. good luck

If you can, drill a hole sideways tru it. Then stick a dowl pin or a screwdriver or whatever you have handy and see if you can't turn it out that way. Then of course buy a new cap. Good luck.

Nick what's the word on your drain plug? Did you get it out or just give up and bought another scoot lol.Now wouldn't that be nice if we could do something like that.
