Check out the K & L bike jack
Hey Guys, I was looking at that same jack a few years ago, then stopped in at my local HD bike shop for some tires and noticed a neat little jack the techs had on each bike lift, I liked it, it's much smaller and don't take up any room. I got one, it's a bit more than what you guys are looking at, around 250-300, no hydraulics, it's like a scissors jack. I center it just in front of the sidestand mounting bracket and it lifts the Strat up for very stable almost anything, I pull my tires and it's not going to move, I have to jack it up quite high for the rear tire as I don't pull the fender like some might do. This puppy has some side stabalizers, (feet) and it's stable as a rock. I was going to setup safety cables or ties in my rafters in the shop, but after shaking the bike up a foot off the ground, I don't need to do that. I do not use it for oil changes, as any jack is just in the way, I have two 2 x 12 boards and a smaller 2 x 4 for the kick stand, I just roll it on the board and have no problems reaching the three plugs with a standard length 17mm open end wrench. Several motorcycle outlets sell this jack, the pro's are using them. I noticed on one add I found at one supplier, that they have the specs wrong it does go higher than the add says, I think it's about 13 inches, I get it up around 10 inches with a 3/4 socket wrench in a few seconds. Just don't get in the habit of putting the side stand up ! I jack from the right side and watch the bike come level then I can relax once I have it up and it don't wobble, I put it on the stand for almost any work as being upright is better for most work on the bike versus sitting on the sidestand. I store it sitting on the end, and stick the dedicated socket wrench in the end, so I don't have to find it lol.
