How to set your mc on fire!

...without really trying.

You know those free shipping blankets you get from Harbor Freight?

If you are match welding brackets that you have bolted in place to the frame of your bike
and you cover the fender and seat with a wet towel so the sparks wont damage your bike...

You might think one of those free shipping blankets might also be good to put over the tires and muffler

But you would be wrong.

That blanket went up in flames like it had gasoline on it.

I got it off the bike instantly, and the bike was in the driveway, so nothing was damaged.

I dont know what they are made of, but Im not keeping them in my cars anymore.

Or my garage
Or my house.

They would be great for starting a bonfire though...

I think the chinese are trying to kill us.

You take free blanket. Put in your car. Put them in all your cars...

The modern day version of blankets w/smallpox.

The wet cotton towel worked great, actually touching the metal about 2" from where I was welding it.
The towel steamed and scorched a bit, and protected the paint and seat.

Also Ive never had a pair of jeans or a tee shirt catch fire from welding or using the cutting wheel on the angle grinder.
