So Friday I went out and got me a little ol 2005 Road Star 1700

Really love the way it rides and the Hinea pipes sound really nice with so much power it's pretty unreal.

Now only missing a Royal Star to be complete

I was looking at Road Stars and Royal Stars at the same time.

I would have been happy with either, but found an excellent deal on a low mileage Royal Star and grabbed it.

The HP and ride are about the same. The Royal Star is maybe a bit wider and a few pounds heavier.

The 4 cylinder exhaust sounds incredible, even with the factory mufflers... But other than that, now that you have a Road Star you got the high end pretty well covered.

Yea I'm really happy with it. Tonight with about 30 miles left to home I switched with my son to ride my 1100 and lord the difference is huge.

Do you know how to tell if it's a Silverado or not ? Really don't care or know what's the difference but would like to be educated on it

silverado is just the factory equipped windshield and saddle bag package.

if you google photos of the silverado model of your bike, you should be able to tell if that is whats on your bike, or someone put aftermarket WS and bags on it.

and yeah, Ive said before, now that I have 1000 miles on my 1300 "Ursa", my VS650 feels like a dirt bike now

but I still like riding both

Great looking bike. Is Mrs. AsphaltWarrior claiming one of them or will you still ride together?

Starting her out on the 650 for sure, kinda sucks with the classes taking 2 days. The last thing I want to do is waste a beautiful weekend watching her do figure 8s in a parking lot when I could be on the open road lol.

Yes Sir......I have to send over the mileage for the comp too but will probably start Feb.

Can't wait to see the final numbers by everyone, now that am out of it with switching bikes I must wait to sit at the top.
