How Cool is this Picture?

This is my '09 950T and my son-in-laws '08 Road Star. Sitting in front of the house after a nice long ride on a clear sunny day! Life is good!! My daughter took the picture and then played with it on the computer. I think it looks REALLY cool!!

Looks cool as hell.
Is that the stock seat on your 950?
And if so how did you get the backrest on it?
and where? Thanks

taboo,

It is a stock seat with an aftermarket drivers seat back rest that I bought off of ebay. It was for the 950, but they had back rests for alot of other bikes too!! I think I paid about $65 and it was a VERY simple bolt on! Let me tell you how big a difference it made, HOLY CRAP!! It made a really nice ride so much more comforatble!

Thanks for the comments!!

I want to ask you about the drivers backrest on your bike. I have a V Star 950 T also and I want to put a backrest on mine also. In one thred you said you got it on E-Bay for $65. I think I found the same one there, same price, but if you could, can you tell me how it installs and what it involves to install it. Do you like it? And would you recomend it? What was the name of the Co. you bought it from? As much info you can give me will be nice. Thanks, Rick

Hey Rick, The installation is VERY easy. You take the drivers seat off, then remove the passenger seat. 2 bolts, I think. Then the bracket for the backrest attaches to the 2 mounting bolts that hold the strap onto the passenger seat. No new holes! I think it took me about 30 minutes total time! That included taking it back off 3 times to bend the bracket for adjustment angle. I LOVE IT! Night and day difference. Makes any ride more comfortable! I would highly recommend it! I do not remember the name of the seller thoug. Backrest something, I think. I actuall bought it offline, I emailed them after an auction for one ended and asked if they had another. They did, but they said that it had a scrath on it. I bought it anyway. I painted over the scratch and you cant even see it!! I hope this helps!!

Thanks Jerry for the help. I guess I'll go agead and order one.
$65.00 beats the crap outta $200 or $300.00 something.
And boy I sure could use it, especially on them long hauls.
Thanks.

Yeah, I did find a quick release one, and it is from Grasshopper.
I'm pretty sure thats the one I'm gonna get. I like the idea of
being able take it off when I don't want it on, then just pop it
on when I need it. It's $99.00 but still WAY worth it.
I'll post a pic when I get it. Thanks guys.
