I rode years ago as alot of us did. I am not counting back then. In 07 got a Honda 750 put 6000 mile on it. Was totaled when I hit a deer. Then got Honda VTX 1300 2008 model that I put 82000 mile on it. And then traded it for a 07 Harley electric glide with 20000 mile on and it was totaled this last Feb. with 42000. And now I have the VStar 1300 Deluxe that I got on March 28th and it has 7000 mile on it already. Got to get your ride on.
Sparkn I am a disabled veteran and have alot of free time. And riding puts me in my happy place. Plus I have a step son that loves to ride with me. Plus the wife likes to ride two up. And I live in the Texas Hill Country.
Just a thought here bevo: You think maybe it is cause most folks care bout their own bike and don't give a rat's ass bout lookin at pictures of other folks bikes? Don't mean nothin here, just sayin.
Good to know there are a few of us old timers out there with a good few miles in our past! Mind you we have a long way to go to catch up with Percy Tait an old Triumph factory test rider and racer with over 1,000,000 miles under his belt.
surprised how many of you have at least 250,000 miles. i've had my driver's license for 16 years and don't have that many miles logged driving cars yet.
Wow, I guess it's all the commuting 70-80 miles to work that puts the miles on mine. Want to live in the country and have to drive to where the jobs are.
I put 5,000, but I could never be sure. I only put about 300 miles on my current bike, about 300 miles on an old 49cc scooter (them's hard miles!), but a vast majority of my miles were off-road on dirt bikes. No way to tell how many actual miles I rode, so I will guess 5k.
At the current rate I am riding, I should put about 12K per year on my bike. Next year we plan to ride PCH from Santa Monica to Washington State and back, so it will be a lot more.
I rode a bunch back in the day (70's and 80's) several years of over 10k miles each. Quit riding for 20+ years and got back into it this past January. Logged about 9k so far this year and loving it.
I work in a remote area where everyone who isn't hillbilly drives at least 30 miles one way to work (I drive 40 myself). If you commute with your ride I can see the miles racking up pretty quickly. Not as quickly as the truck I used to drive (125,000 miles per year) but 25,000 is nothing to bark at just for the commute. Car lots also are littered with two year olds with 50,000+ miles on them.
I only had my Katana for a few months. Prob put around 7,000 on it. Put about 10,000 on the 01 gsxr 750 before I totalled it off the side of a mountain, then I put around 25,000 on my 06 gsxr 750 before selling it. Bought the raider around 5 months ago. Got about 8,000 on it so far.
5k - 10k on a couple of 2 strokes as a Teenager
20k on a Honda Gold Wing from 1985-1992
5k on a Honda Shadow 600 VLX 1997-1998
10k on a Honda Shadow 1100 Spirit 1999-2000
20k on a Kawasaki Nomad 1500 2000-2010
To be determined Yamaha V-Star 950
As you can see I only average 2-3 thousand a year when I have a bike, I hope to up that number a lot since I am retired now.
Been riding for 3 seasons but only about 28 months and not at all from Oct of last year until March of this year. I have ridden 17000 miles in that time.
