Thanks Bevo,

I got lost yesterday taking a shortcut to buy a better pair of gloves and ended up on a great ride on some roads I had never been on and was thinking that there should be someplace like these sites you linked to so I could find more cool places to bike.

Ended up getting some great gloves too! Who knew those things had to be fitted right???

A nice ride in North Carolina.

HWY 52 N out of Winston Salem
Take the Pinnacle Exit and turn right
Go to Old 52 North into Pilot Mountain
Take 268 East to Rock House Road
At the end of Rock House Road turn Left
When the road ends at a T intersection turn right onto HWY 66
This is a real nice set of twisties for several miles.
Stay on 66 all the way back to Winston Salem OR
Turn Left onto Moore Springs Road to Hanging Rock Road
Turn Right to go to Hanging Rock State Park
You can go back to 66 or go to the end of Hanging Rock Road and take HWY 8 South to Winston Salem

It is a good half day ride with a couple of stops along the way or you can make a day of it by picnicking at Hanging Rock. Hike if you are into it

My favorite local ride, for anyone who gets to Central PA - Amish Country, Gettysburg, HersheyPark, etc. is to zig-zag over the mountains between cumberland and perry counties.

On the north, Valley Rd. parallels the range and Wertzville Rd does so on the south. Connecting them every few miles are roads that criss-cross the mountains: Tower Rd, Lamb's Gap Road, Miller's Gap Rd, Mountain Rd., Rte. 34, Waggoner's Gap Rd., etc. They're all nice 2-lane twisties. Easy cruising at 35-40, a few hairpins that you can scrape the pegs at 25 if you like, and you don't have to go over 50 to get some real thrills going.

Just "up one and down the next" is a good hour-long 'clear my head and relax' ride. Hitting more adds time: really your choice how long you want to zig-zag.

One of my favorite rides is Sacramento to Avenue of the Giants.
5 north to exit 537 left on Main St. through Woodland.
It will turn into Hwy.16 Farmland into canyon on the way is Cash Creek Casino.
Left turn onto Hwy. 20 through Clearlake great place to stop for food eating lake side.
20 to 101 north This is where it gets interesting Willets a couple of great bars, Leggetts (Drive thru tree) a few Bigfoot tourist places.
Exit 645 Avenue of the Giants I stay at a friends house but Miranda Garden Cottages is a great place to stay 1920's cottages some with fireplaces.
A few pictures.

East Tennessee gets all the internet love with the dragon and the whip but middle Tennessee has a lot of great roads. Natchez trace parkway, anything but I-24 toward Chattanooga, Cedar Hill lake region, Cordell Hull lake region, Dale Hoolow lake region. Beautiful scenery, water falls parks. Grab a map and a handful of throttle.

I'm glad to see you listed Motorcycle Roads. The number of routes they list is unbelievable. They not only have the route listed, but misc. info about the route and often photos. I mention this site as I have posted over 700 photos myself.

Be sure to sign up for their newsletter where you will get a periodic article and links to special places. The last one listed the five top curvy roads in the country. I decided to use that list and will visit all five this summer.

Thanks for the links Bevo. They were new to me.

One I'd like to share for Northern California is: https://www.pashnit.com/ca-roads

It used to be a pay site with huge listings throughout NCal but the guy is reformatting in a free format with donations excepted. He also conducts 1, 2 and 3 day tours but the link above gets you to very nice reviews with lots of pics for MC roads.

One of our favorite vacations is the area of Monument Valley, Valley of the Gods, and the Four Corners area - UT, AZ, CO, NM. We've been several times. Not on a bike.

Just out of Valley of the Gods is the Moki Dugway, UT Hwy 261. Someday I would love to ride it.

Here is one guy who did it on an H-D. I have no connection with that particular guy, just happened to be at the top of the YouTube listing. Whatever you ride/drive, the views are epic and thrilling.

Head west young man, head west. There are numerous roads between you and the mountains that you can ride in a day and back. Just stay off of the big highways. Head towards York, PA and over to Gettysburg. Keep moving west to the ski resorts west of I-81 and pick a route back via a different routes. My goal is to find any of the Sates "Scenic By-ways". Many of these are so small they do not have stripes om the pavement. Just watch out for horse and buggy...
