DelMarVa Bike week 2011

Just wanted to say hi to everyone from OCMD Bike Week. This is my wife and I's first bike week of any kind and our first long ride. We rode from Lehigh Valley, Pa to OCMD, so it was our first long(ish) trip on the VStar.

Haven't seen too many VStars down here, plenty HD's. Would love to have seen more VStars, but its a great time.

Hey JP1, I was down there on Sunday all day, I heard from the vendors that it got pretty wet on Saturday, I noticed the zillions of HD's also, of every shape and model plus all the custom machines, wow. I noted plates from all over the east coast.
And like you, I didn't see many Star Model bikes anywhere.
I did around 400 miles for the day, coming from up near Westminster Md, and some riding in OC. Had fun with all the bikes on the main drag. Parked for most of the day on the Inlet free MC only lots. this was nice not having to mix it in with the cages.
And the bikes where safe, as there was a constant coming and going of bikers in the area. 100's in and 100's out constantly all day long. Overall it was pretty nice.

We actually left on Saturday morning to come home. 4 hour drive north back to Pa and it was cold for about 3 hours and 55 minutes of the trip. LOL. I did learn one thing though, we absolutely need to get better seats for both the wife and I.

The weirdest day weather-wise was Thursday. It started sunny and warm and ended with a huge storm and a little tornado that went down 75th street. We were just turning into the hotel parking lot when the downpour hit, so we got lucky.

I was just completely amazed how many bikes were there. It was pretty cool going up and down the main street with nothing but bikes around. Will probably go back next year, but hopefully with a group this time.
