Another example of the cost of bikes down here.

Went to the local dealer the other day to buy some oil and other bits for my old girl and found myself admiring this 2006 Roadliner (the name for the Stratoliner down here) on their lot. Here is the link to the add. Bikes are so expensive in this country.

According to the current exchange rate, that's $14,853.49 USD.

Looking at all the extras on that bike, that's reasonably close to the US NADA (National Automotive Dealer Association) blue book valuation.

Market value is less of course, but if your dealerships use a NADA equivalent valuation to set their prices, they're not too far off the mark.

Anything under $40,000.00 p/a is considered minimal. I'm not too sure how that balances with the U.S. Public Health care and general style of living is good.

Thanks mate, yes I just came back from a one hour jaunt on her, just waiting to see if there is another little oil leak. She is an old girl as you know and I will continue to nurse her along. Like you said, to me she is worth way more than the five odd grand I paid for her, think I have had that much worth in enjoyment so far.......

Send a message via Yahoo to captainkyle
I have sent quite a few Harleys over there for customers. I am fixing to send my first Yamaha over a 2000 Vmax but the prices add up by the time you pay fro compliance & 10 % Tax & my fee but it still seems to work out cheaper on the Harleys. www.madmonkeycycles.com
