Removing Badges?

Question about removing the tank badges on a 04 classic. With the bike having a few years on it , will there be enough fading or discoloration between the paint under the badge and the rest of the tank to be noticeable
Just trying to dechrome and individualize it a little (bought a used a while ago) Thanks

Doubt you will have to do much, if anything, other than was suggested, wax and buff out.(if even that) If more is needed, I have used some stuff called "Color Magic", by Turtle Wax, on a project or two with great results Good luck with it.

if you don't notice any specific faded spots on your bike and the color is still uniform all over, then chances are it should still be the exact same color as what's underneath the stickers

If you take them off without destroying them and you find noticeable fading, they just go right back on with some agressive 3M double sided foam tape.
