Seems to be a new twist on an old idea.

Yamaha Pat likes this.

This bulb idea is interesting but I would be a concern with the glass lens in the original headlight. Many of these lens have a pattern to help throw the beam. Also, most new bikes have those obvious LED projector headlight and folks may prefer to have the more modern look. The JW Speaker Adaptive replacement headlight does the same. I guess it may come down to price. The JW Speaker is expensive.

'05 V Star 1100 Silverado $2000
Jardine Rumblers Slash Cut Slip-ons $50
Ext. Depot Billet ORK $120
LED Daymaker Headlight from Amazon $59
LED Driving Lights attached to Stock Turn Signal Stems $29
SuperbrightLEDs High Power Brake LED w/ Brake Flasher $18
SuperbrightLEDs "Switchback" Front LED Bulbs $28
Unibar Engine Guard $35
Rear Fender Mini Luggage Rack $25
Throttle Assist $32

after a conversation over lunch about being able to see deer on the shoulder, Im thinking of putting a side angled "passing light" on my toyota with a switch on the dash.

The idea is to illuminate the shoulder and right side of the road ahead, without blinding oncoming traffic - esp places like the interstates where you are going 70mph at night, but cant always put on your hi beams.

My toyota doesnt have fog lights, but there is a spot in the bumper for them.
