polishing fork covers

has anyone polished the brushed stainless fork covers to a mirror finish if so what process was used. is sanding required or just polishing rouges. i have every rouge from black to red but i'm not sure which ones are needed for this job. im doing a lot of polishing this winter. i'm doing the final drive, drum brake cover, lower forks, front hub and fork covers. i'm somewhat familiar with aluminum polishing but not stainless. any ideas on the front brake caliper would be appreciated it looks to difficult for polishing

Hey pauli,
Way back when I did a lot of polishing on aluminum and we used the black rouge for best results. We just made we didn't get it too hot. On chrome and brass we used a lighter shade of rouge so we didn't burn into the material, but that was 30 plus years ago.

Have your calipers chromed as I did as they will continually need to be cleaned and doing so on chrome finishes is much easier.
