My Tank Runneth Over!

Temp was record high today, from normal below freezing up in the the 60s.

My son was puttering with his car and told me the garage smells like gasoline, esp near my VS650.

Went out to check and my gas tank topside was covered with fuel.

I topped it off in December when I was pretty sure I would not be able to ride till spring
and now with one day in the 60s the gas expanded and flowed out the top through the gas cap.

Will have to check and make sure nothing else was stressed, but just a heads up. I wanted to fill the tank as much as possible so nothing would rust over the winter.... Never expected this!

And BTW yes I did think about taking a February 18th ride, but the streets are all white with dried salt, and I dont need that on my bike. Did see a few hard core riders out today, bless their hearts.

it must of built pressure to push the check valve open on the vent, there's a little steel ball with a spring pushing on it over the vent hole so it doesn't leak in tip over but enough pressure will open it, you must of had zero head space for that to happen
