xs 650

I've always been disappointed that Yamaha never resurrected the venerable old XS 650.
With the Triumph Bonneville and Kawasaki's W650/800, I thought for sure Yamaha would bring back there great old twin. I loved my xs 650 and would have snapped up a new one if they had brought out a new version.

I used to see a few all the time around here. Either on the road or for sale in the spring as people upgraded. Haven't seen em for a while now. I was always partial to those old xs and xj bikes. Problem is as years go by they're harder to easily get parts for. When i had my xj550 i was lucky enough to have a complete parts bike.

People are asking a small fortune for them here now. It's not unusual to see very average ones advertised for @$8,000.00

That's how I ended up buying my Bolt xv950. I was looking for something old to tinker with but the prices people were asking were so high. I got my Bolt for $10,000. on the road, brand new. No brainer really

I would love to have an SR500 or the new SR400.

The pistons on a twin like the SX move together, so there is really very little difference between an inline twin and a thumper.

problem is I can only ride one bike at a time, and I really have no issues with my VStar 650

I was gonna say, I think that's like the perfect cafe racer project bike. Very popular probably for a project bike. (I know I would totally love one!)
