Swing Arm and Rear Shock Questions...

I have my bike in the air doing maintenance. Cleaned and greased all the regular rear wheel stuff. Replaced oil in final drive. I was just sitting on ground looking at the shock and the brackets. I took the shock out a couple of years back, bought the bearing press to remove and install them. Greased etc and installed. I did notice after I installed to shock it had noticeable gaps between the the swingarm mounts and gaps at the RELAY ARM and gaps at the triangle brackets. ( where the bolt goes through the collars) Is the shock suppose to be able to slightly shift from left to right? Bike rides great, no issues. Just wanted to know if anyone has looked at how the rear shock is mounted between all its torque points. If this is hard to understand I welcome all phone calls...803-200-7385....
Thank you all!!!

I ride an 1100 and can only comment on past experience and not first hand on a Royal Star. The shock rubber bushing will shrink and wear with age. Almost all of my bikes which had higher miles and age had some left to right movement in the mount. When weight is on shock it limites any movement. Hope that helps.
