New Bike Questions

Just bought a new to me 2008 Stratoliner. Liked them the first time I saw them and finally got one. Have a couple of questions about some add ons that I am going to purchase. FIRST---What is the best cup holder to fit the 1 1/2 inch handle bars and SECOND----I could not believe it but my wife said she wanted me to go ahead and pull the trigger on the Highway Passing lamps. Told her I could wait on that one but she says, "I want you to go ahead and get them so you can be as safe as possible" I said well if I have too. So is all I need the the lamps and the mounting brackets and how hard are they to install. I put them on my vtx myself but vendor says they recommend dealer install.

Not that hard but total pain in the ass. Extra pair of hands comes in handy.

Check ebay as source.

Be sure to change the inline fuse in the head light bucket to blade type fuse. Many have melt...including mine!

There is a great pictorial "how to" on the Delphi Stratoliner forum.

Kruzer Kaddy works well

Thanks for the help. I did find this one and went ahead and ordered it as it will hold my Wal-Mart Yeti cup. I have one like it on my VTX but it fits on the 1 inch handle bars. Was having hard time finding one that would fit 1 1/2 inch bars. Also I found the link I think you are speaking of about the installation of Highway Lights. Have decided to wait for that add on as I will be leaving for a trip two trip out west in a month and do not like making that type of mod before a trip.
I see you live in No Georgia. Love riding in that area and like to stay at TWO Motorcycle Campground in Suches. Great roads and riding. Also I see you have the Ultimate seat. Thinking of ordering one as well. What are the pros and cons if there are any. That is alot of money if they are not all they are supposed to be. Which one did you get. I am 6 feet 210lbs so I sort of fit both the low and mid rider.

I have the mid rider. For the first year it was pretty good.
Then had to have it reworked by local custom shop that does street rods, etc....and use to do motorcycle seats.

If I lived in Calif would do the Russell Day Long drive in program. But shipping back and forth doesn't appeal to me.

Ultimate seems to be the seat of choice. Most love them. But they are not the Ultimate in comfort they use to be years ago.

Next time you are in my area, give me a shout. Probably know some roads you haven't ridden.
Suches is a great choice except getting in and out at times can be a pain. IMO Blairsville is better choice since easier to get to other areas. Plus, I have well stocked garage fridge with cold beverages.

If you do extra lighting, there is a source for a plug and play wiring harness made by Steve (Fl) who is on the board every now and then. Saves going into head light bucket and tail light.
Very inexpensive and I highly recommend.
