Anyone else have a thirsty transfer case?

I drained the box tonight and got exactly .5 quarts out.

Book calls for .58 quart on a drain and fill.

I pulled the fill hole and the 'fill to' plug and it didnt start to seep out until I put over 3/4 the quart in. Bike was on a jack pushed up just enough to level the bike but not lift it.

I just changed my oil and transfer case oil for the first time and could not believe how much gear oil I put in, I kept thinking it would run out all over but it didn't. I too ended up with a bit more than I thought would go in, but after taking it out and running it hard, (still breaking it in ) it was right on the line.

The reason for my post is fear of blowing out a seal.

Book calls for .58 quarts, I drained .5 but it took .8 quarts.

I was curious if anyone else noticed this.

I really tried to get some to run back out but it would not work, so I am running it right now. I will try getting some to run out but so far it does not seem to mind it at all and seems to shift very nicely.
Time will tell but I would think that a few ounces either way should not do that type of damage, course I am no expert but after seeing the quality of some of the tech's at this one shop I am certain that I can do as good a job if not better!
