Cool Ugly Passenger Floorboards

I just got my 06 Roadliner S a month ago. My wife requested floorboards so I got them for her. I WAS happier without them.
The look of the bike has changed. It's the only piece of brushed aluminum on the bike and it sticks out like a sore thumb. They look OK in the down position but I want them up when they are not being used. I would think Yamaha would have seen this and either chromed or gun metal the undersides for $300. I don't want to settle for " Just get used to it " yet. Suggestions?

Yep, I have them too. They have an ugly bottom when up.

I was thinking of putting them as driver pegs and scraping the a$$ off them then put them back as passenger pegs

I betcha there is something that can be purchased for that.

I was thinking of "polishing" the aluminum to make them more like chrome

My only suggestion is not to get the Yamaha passenger boards. My dealership showed me the Cobra passenger boards, they are chrome and when they are in the up position they have the straight lines like what is on the tank. They look very good and I think they add to the bike.
