Engine running rich

Ever since I removed my baffles and replaced my air filter with a k&n filter, my bike has been running rich. Don't know what do do, any ideas welcome.

How have you determined that you are running rich?

Need to adjust pms screws on carbs. Go to wiki. Or someone with instructions will be here soon.

You can smell it when I accelerate, all you can smell is gas.

PMS is only for idle. It is of no significant consequence once the throttle is opened.

Good article here.

When it is idling it is fine, cursing seems fine too, but on acceleration it reeks of gas, and I have noticed my mileage go down, which of course I do not like.

Gas smell coming from between your thighs (gasoline for all you that thought I meant something else) or out the tailpipe? I'm not big on V-twin Mikunis, but if the gas smell is coming from anywhere but the tailpipe, you need to find the leak now. It could be as simple as a float adjustment or even that the crankcase vent isn't attached to the new filter.

thought a k&nfilter was suposed to increase air to the carbs, check your plugs and see if there fouled, what octane fuel are you using.

You could also be smelling blow by that you weren't smelling before because the old filter did a better job of containing the fumes and sending them back into the motor.
