Exclamation help! need quick carb answer

2002 vstar 1100. I'm syncing carbs, and while looking for the vacuum ports saw this port just sitting open with nothing attached.
Is something supposed to be attached? If so what? Thanks y'all.

Garage
I found mine like that on my 05 vstar 1100. I put a vacuum cap on it. If you look in the parts catalog they show a vacuum cap.

Thanks mob. Was thinking it at least should have a cap. I have enough trouble with dirty carbs without an opening for crud to get in.

My '03 1100 wasn't capped either and I left it that way. Have read on other forums that they came that way new but the newer models and Ca. models were capped. I thought I read it was some kind of drain.

Just seems a bad plan to have an open port in the carb. But I do defer to their knowledge over mine. I don't know squat about a carb except they make my life difficult.
