170/80 or 180/70?

I have a 2008 Vstar 1100 Silverado. The manual and the info on the frame says it is supposed to have a 170/80 15 rear tire. The one that is on it now is a 180/70. I thought it was the original tire but maybe not?

I ordered a 170/80 not looking at the one that was on it. What difference would it make going from the 180/70 to a 170/80?

180/70 is a under size metric, It will be about 3/4'' smaller on the dia. and about .4'' wider than the stock size of 170/80. At 50mph on the speed-0 you would be 48.47mph with 180/70. .
