Anyone know about the AIS removal on a old 78 Viragro 700??

Buddy was looking at a 1987 virago 700 that has a case of popping on decel. I was wondering how to ditch it if its anything like our AIS system on the Vstars.

Has stock pipes and I dont know about the tune or anything so i was reading it could be running lean. Either way if he picks this up we were thinking ditch the AIS regardless...

Sorry I can't help ya with that but if you replace the "o" with an "a", I'm sure you'll be a happy camper even with all the popping.

I'm calling the whole line "Viagros" from now on... You put this pill in the gas tank, and it magically goes from a 750 to an 1100...

Or does it only count as a Viagro if you 'stroke' it to 1000cc?...

I actually looked at one before I bought my V star. I'm really glad I didn't because I still cant spell the name correctly.

Virago's according to the virago tech forum states that they were known to run very lean from the factory. When I rode my virago xv750 bobber project home, it seemed to be running lean even with the factory exhaust drilled out.

Yes, from what I've recently read. One member there state's that if you adjust the idle screws it'll help on the popping.
