When I open a thread is shows beginning post and reply box below that. Other issues are also there on our site. Lets give the administrator some time to figure it out. As our "mature" thread showed most of us were here before technology as we know it now kicked in. So we should think back to when it took some time to get things done.

Sorry Les but once you have experienced 3 second microwave PopTarts, there is no going back to the 3 minute toaster version!

Whatever crashed the server I'm sure its all backed up at least once a day, so if anything is Lost In Space its just the last few hours.

In the meantime, I took some awesome 35mm photos of my 650. I mailed the film to be processed today, so I should get the prints in about a week. If anyone wants a copy let me know, and I will mail them to you....
Elk, Scrumdown and AlphaOmega like this.

But the toaster ones are better than soggy microwave. 😀

Still using 35mm film??!! I've got a few good cameras and lenses. I wish some company would invent something to insert into the camera so that people could take digital photos but still use all the great cameras that suddenly turned next to useless.

I built up a good collection of lenses for Pentax cameras. A few years ago I finally got a Pentax camera body that uses the old 35mm format lenses. Its a 10M pixel digital camera, so now my collection of glass has value again. The only tradeoff is the CCD is smaller than 35mm, so each lens is about 1.5X what it would be using a film body. For example, my 80 to 300mm zoom lens is now 120 to 450mm effective (2.4 to 9X magnification instead of 1.6 to 6X).

Im sure other companies have done this as well. Its not the camera body that has all the value, its the lenses.
