Good evening fellow Star bike enthusiasts. I want to open this thread with my intention to find another site moderator. For right now, I'd like to find someone to specifically take over Bike Of The Month duties as well as someone who is capable and willing to scour the interwebs in search of interesting motorcycle related topics to share here and ignite robust discussions and interest. In addition, this person will also have full moderating capabilities as all of our current moderators have to police and govern the site and uphold forum rules. So if any of you have any interest to take on this role in helping keep this a great online community, please send me a private message for consideration.
My second intention is to tell you that I am also looking for a replacement as supermoderator. This position is being offered to any member currently in good standing on the site, new or old, moderator or not. I have been privileged to operate as the supermoderator of this site for more than 5 years now, and have been a member since I purchased my first star bike 7 years ago. It's been a great joy to see this place grow from the wasteland of inactivity that it was back in 2009 (besides the incessant spamming), into the diverse and mature collective of riders we have today. While this position deserves someone who can provide daily love and attention to it, I have other faculties requiring my attention now and feel that it's time for someone else to have a chance to take this place in a new direction.
I have no time limit right now on my search to hand over the reigns, and I plan on remaining a faithful and contributing member afterwards, so this isn't a goodbye letter. But I do want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for making this place as great as it is. If it weren't for all you coming on here and asking questions, providing answers and helping out those with mechanical quandaries, sharing progress and photos of your awesome rides, and just generally fostering each and everyone's appreciation for riding and our fellow riders, it wouldn't have been nearly as enjoyable as it has been. So thanks to all of you for making this site great.
