Great new (old) trend

Been seeing a lot more motorcycle related shows on cable lately. Currently watching a special on "History" about Jessie James building his drake bike. Seems that people are taking a lot more interest in custom built bikes and hot rods.

If this is a trend, I think it's a great one.

It is a trend, SThomas. and likeyou said a good one. More peole on bikes means more awarness on the road. Like drivers are better pedestrians, I think. better to have someone on the road that understands the bikes plight.
Keep the rubber side down.

My feet on the pegs and lots of time to go where the road leads.

actually, the trend in custom bike building is on the decline. i think it probably peaked around '07 or '08. the collapse of the economy might have had something to do with its downturn. read an article where custom bike shops have been having to close down all over. i talked to a custom bike shop owner from Galveston in '12 who said his business had been on the decline for the past couple years because there were less and less people wanting to spend the money for custom bikes. the custom bike shop that employed the painter who worked on my bike is no longer open. and i think Jesse James' shop had been on the decline when he decided to close it down.

i create motorcycle videos. check them out here

Perhaps then we will see more people doing their own work instead of paying someone.

I feel a speech coming on...about men retaking their honor, and trading their hipster crap for a wrench.

Now I'm going to go lift something heavy while smoking a cigar.

There have been more bike shows. Yeah custom bike shops are on the way down but tv shows about bikes are on more often. For example one I have started watching and really like is Cafe Racer. Also its more of a DIY type shows instead of phony reality like OCC, Jesse James, ect.
