Yamaha virtual bike show rant
i've ranted on this topic before and i'll do it again. Yamaha's virtual bike show on their site is complete BS. there have been so many 'winners' who clearly didn't deserve it. but each month the contest is based on how many votes a particular bike receives. it's a popularity contest. if a person can just email the link to their bike to a ton of people, or post it to a popular place like a facebook page, they get more votes because the voters aren't knowingly voting based on other bikes in the contest. i'm talking about voting on a bike that is almost entirely stock whereas there are DOZENS of other bikes that are of SHOWROOM stature, or biker magazine photo shoot material.
the newest exhibit is this month's 'winner', a used vmax that looks entirely stock. just peruse around the site to see that nearly every other bike available for voting is more worthy than this one. rant over.
