Subscriptions to threads - ANNOYING ME

Every time somebody posts in a thread I've posted in, I get an email.

In the email it says ...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To unsubscribe from ALL threads, please visit this page:
https://www.starbikeforums.com/forums...n&folderid=all

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So I click on that but I can not see any way to unsubscribe and/or how to stop automatic subscriptions and the subsequent email(s).

HELP!

At the top of your post you will see the words--linkback, thread tools, search this thread, rate thread, and display modes.
move your sensor over thread tools and a new menu will popup click on unsubscribe and you are done.

Thanks for that; however, I don't want to subscribe to any threads. Does this mean I have to do this each new thread I post in?

If you are subscribe too that thread, it will say unsubscribe. Also from the the line above that you will see the words-- Home, Forums, active post, new post, gallery, garage, tool, and insurance.
move over TOOLS and you will get a popup menu , pull sensor down to quick links, a new menu will popup, move sensor down to Subscribe threads, click on it . This will show all threads you are subscribed too
on the right of this page is notifications, click that box and go to the bottom of page click unsubscribe and that all the threads you are subscribed to.

P.S. you do not have to use quote all the time to reply. Just hit reply.

Thanks. BTW, I'm a long time forum poster (not necessarily here) and I use quote when I'm responding directly to something someone posted so they and everyone else knows what I'm responding to. I use reply to post a general comment in the thread that is not necessarily specific to another individual's post.

Each forum I belong to has different ways of handling things.

Having said all that, your info is very helpful and I did see that before; however, is there not a way to prevent automatic subscriptions? It's a bit of a PITA to have to manually unsubscribe either individually or as a batch.

The moderators have to log in and modify your profile. I get the same every time I comment and it is super annoying to be subscribed just because I comment on a thread

Move sensor over tools, drop down to quick-links, move over and down to Edit options and click on it. Change default subscription to the setting you would like it to be..
Note: you will receive this if you have not unsubscribe from thread.
bevo1981 and bevo1981 like this.
