helmet lock

my 650 had a helmet lock mounted to the side frame but it was hidden and inaccessible behind the saddle bags. Took about a half hr to relocate it to a rack behind the sissy bar. You will need an M6 tap which I had on hand.

Nice job. I tried to do that on my 1100 but whoever put the backrest on must've used red Loctite. No way I could budge either one.

Had the same problem.
Bought a padlock, slip it through the ring on my helmet, attach it to the brake lever.
Lock area is smaller than the end of the lever, it ain't going anywhere.

I bought a retractable combination cable lock. It was long enough to lock down 2 helmets and I could run it through the sleeve of my jacket too. It probably could've been cut with a pair of wire cutters but it kept the honest thieves away. No one could just walk by and take my helmet without a little work anyway. My helmet fits in the locking saddlebags on the Nomad so I don't use it anymore.
