I kind of like the look of these.

Looks like a set of mini-saddle bags where you could store glasses, gloves, or maybe a phone. I'm not sure that's a ton more useful than just a leather 'apron' like this.

I knew lesblank has got deflectors on his bike and I was admiring them over the weekend. They make a lot of sense to me.

One thing I would caution you with these guards, you will get paint rub, you might put down some clear vinal wrap on your painted covers just to protect your paint.
I had a Leather Tank protector that wrapped the whole lower part of my tank and it showed rubbing after a short time, saved the tank from Jean and keys, but not from the leather.

I personally have never used the guards myself, I just wear jeans and don't tank squeeze when it is hot out.

Yet another option.

https://cool-thighs.com/

Statest they have insulating and heat reflective materials inside.

The point RRien07 makes about paint rub is a good thing to consider. Bucfan11 posted a couple of days ago about applying vinyl paint protection bra film (a term that cracks me up) to prevent some scratching on his bike. Might be a good in combination with the heat shield.
