The button on the left is for switching between the trip odometers. The one on the right, clears the trip odometers.
When you hold them both down. You can change the time. A manual for your bike can/should explain how to use them.
boy this bugs the hell out of me now because I cant find anything on that tuning forks button
google shows nothing - owners manual says its not there...
it does not make sense that it lights up when you push it, because when you have gloves on you would not be able to see it light up when you push it, your finger would cover the button
Try pushing it at night and see if maybe it makes the instrument cluster light up brighter? I cant think of any other purpose. Does it stay on when you push it once? Emergency flashers maybe?
Edit: earlier Road Stars do not have the 3rd button
Man I must be loosing my mind.. I just went down to try it again, and nothing.. When I pressed down on it at the gas station could have sworn it lit up.
I think Yamaha put that on so it would drive guys on Vstar forums nuts. Apparently it works real well!
