Tranny recall?

Friend of mine mentioned Yamaha was recalling a wide year range of this model for Transmission problems. Any personal experience/feedback on this?

Had my 2000 Silverado done last month.. it was all free and for another $175 cdn the dealer "did my valves" whatever that means and installed my supplied spark plugs.. I thought the bike ran good before but the shifing was a little sticky sometimes and I missed a shift now and again.. I would "hit" the shifter and the gear would not change or only go to neutral. Since then it seems better and I'm not missing shifts...
