Help with Visor Install

First...I'm going to chuck this up to getting older.
Years ago, I installed the chrome headlamps and turn signal star visors.

The turn signal plastic (Chrome look) rings broke and naturally the visors are off. For the life of me I cannot figure out how they go back on???

I thought that if I loosen the two turn signal screws the visor would fit inside the housing but there is an "O" ring there to prevent that. Then I thought they would fit just under the plastic turn signal ring but that cant be it since the visors have notches in them.

Any help?

I'm still blaming getting older...

I'll be honest and say I have no idea what you are talking about Maybe if you posted some pics it would help get the ball rolling?
