Fuel Pump Alternative

Recently my fuel pump went out on my Vstar 1100. I checked around and a new one was going to cost about $400. So i was digging through my junk and found an old electric fuel pump i had for a dune buggy. It almost looked exactly the same so i decided to do a bit of research and found that an Airtex E8016S pumped at the same pressure and was the same size as an oem except that there was a fuel spigot on each side versus on the same side. I had to lengthen the tank side hose, splice the stock connector on and i was good to go. It even fit in the stock location, in the stock rubber sleeve. Also it is almost silent. No more pesky fuel pump noises. The really good part is it was $51.00 from my local Advanced Autoparts store. Autozone and Orielly both carried it but it was a couple of dollars more. Also it came with a warranty versus no warranty with oem. I hope this info helps......
