Unhappy Looking for VERY hard to find parts with no luck..

I am in the process of converting my '08 1300 Tourer to a solo rider. The OEM rear fender stays of the Tourer have attachment slots for the sissy bar & backrest so I have to change them out.. Going to a solo rider, I obviously don't want those sticking up the 4 to 5 inches that they do.

I have been searching and searching for "regular" fender stays that would go on a - "standard" for lack of a better word - V Star 1300. I don't know if this is the proper area to ask about this, but does ANYONE out there possibly know where I could find a pair, preferably from a salvage bike? Yamaha wants an absolutely RIDICULOUS price for each side piece. Any help in locating a left and right rear fender stay for my '08 Yamaha V Star 1300 would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

not sure if this helps

I looked up the 08 Vstar 1300 and the Tourer is the only model listed on Bikebandit.com for OEM parts

but in 2012 there is a base model Vstar 1300 listed... if its the same bike, this is the OEM fender "stuff" page and diagram:

$262 each? are those the expensive parts you are referring to?

If you removed the fender rails, (Stays) would spacers work?
I've seen, I don't know what they're called, these things that go between the bags & fender to hide the spacers.

Keep watching Ebay, there on there from time to time. Still more than I would want to pay.
