Somethings missing!!??

So I bought this 2000 V-star 1100 that doesn't run and came across this?? What is supposed to plug into the blue connector in the picture? As you can see in the photo it is right next to the rectifier.

Missing part

Rudy,

Has been a while so I don't know. But looking at the Manual I only see Oil light relay and sidestand sw in that area.

It will take some searching but this is a link to a service manual.

I have a 950 and according to my shop manual the Rectifier/Regulator should be hooked up to the AC magneto sometimes refered to as the stator/generator. Looks like the wires are going to the RR. So that blue plug should be hooked up to a wiring harness that goes to the magneto and the fuse block. The AC voltage from the magneto is rectified and regulated to DC by the RR and sent to the fuse block to be distributed to the appropiate circuit.

From what I can tell it hooks up to the starter relay. There should be a connector in the area of the battery/ main fuse that it connects to. This is probably the reason the bike not running.
Hope this helps

Thanks for all the help

I found out that the plug goes to a carburator heater.
