650 Custom Turn Signal Flasher -Thermal or Solid State???

Hello All,

I want to replace my stock back turn signals with Harrison Specialties LED lights. They say if motorcycle has a thermal turn signal flasher I will need purchase a relay system for the lights to operate at full brightness. But if the turn signal flasher is a solid state flasher I do not need to purchase the relay system.

Does anyone know if the flasher on a 2006 V star 650 Custom is a thermal turn signal flasher or solid state flasher?

Flasher

Kiwi,

I believe your flash rate will change. I seem to remember a post that someone was able to buy a replacement at NAPA auto parts. Take your old one with you and they can cross it.

Here is a page with another option on the 1100 but I think they are similar.
