Tach kit w/ risers not reading

I just installed a Pro-One Tach Kit with 4" risers and the tach is not reading. I installed it to the right side coil as per instructed and it is still not reading. The red and blue wire is connected to the red/black coil wire and the green wire is connected to the orange coil wire and the black wire is grounded. I know that the ground is good since the back light is lit. When I start the bike, it reads either below 0 RPM's or up to 0, but never goes over....Any suggestions?

The only thing I can think of is to reverse the two signal wires.

Sometimes there is a switch on the back of the tach for setting the # of cylinders. Make sure it is set to 2. and check your wiring. if all is good could be just a bad tach. It happens.

Thanks

Thank you for the replies, it appears that it is a bad tach and the manufacturer is sending me a new one.
