wal mart running lights

i got some running lights from wal mart

optonics, 50 watt lights i think. they look good, 20.00 for the set, so can beat the price

has anyone tried this and do they work ok with the vstar 1100 charging system/reg/battery, i dont want to damage it

if you have installed these, were you able to find a 1 inch handlebar switch to turn them on/off, or what did you use and where did you mount the switch. where is a good place to obtain a switched line that isnt the low or high beam circuit for headlight but switched on and off by main key switch

Are these running lights for a car/truck? If so, how do you plan to mount them?

I've seen them mounter to the bolts on the blinker stalks. Yes they will work, they are about the same wattage as my yamaha driving lights. If you are concerned you might swap out your taillight bulb for an LED one.

Are those the small round ones that use the MR-16 Bulb? If so, those are the ones I have mounted on my 07 custom. The 50 watt draw is a little much for the charging system on these bikes, so I went to Home Cheapo and got the Phillips brand 35 watt bulbs. I run those lights all of the time with no problem with the battery discharging.

Now if I am running my Gerbings at the same time, I usually plug my battery tender in when I get home just to top the battery off (the lights and gloves usually are OK, but the lights, gloves and insoles will slightly discharge the battery after my 1 1/2 hour commute ride).
