99 V-Star 650 Idle RPM?

What is the correct idle RPM for the V-Star 650? I'm worried about going too low, since these aren't supposed to lope like Harleys from what I've read.

1150 - 1250 RPM

650 V Stars have waste spark. If a clamp-on tach displays 1200 RPM but the engine sounds slow, you need to adjust for 2400 RPM.

Never set the RPM to sound like a Harley. At that low of a RPM, oil is not making it to the top of the engine.
