Does anyone have and idea what the problem is? Thank you in advance.

The starter spins fine when off of the bike. Just when it's on is the problem. I did not test the starter for the proper amps going to it before seeing if it would start the bike again in the video. I'm hoping it's the starter and not something else deeper although I am steading myself for the worst. I have a feeling it's going to be the worst. Any help or suggestions would be of great assistance. Thanks.

This should help some I hope. I have never seen it like it is in your video. However most of the starter problem's are the one way clutch and it make's a clunking sound.

Starter clutch

I wonder if you checked your starter clutch when you had the starter out? Page 4-50 in the service manual.

Well that helps a lot. I just had another person mention the starter clutch. I actually was moving some belongings from one room to another and seem to have misplaced my manual. I'm still trying to figure out where the damn thing is.

I did notice a clunking sound right before she went out on me. Thanks very much for the information. It may cost me a few dollars but I can't have her out of service for long.

Well it does indeed appear to be the starter clutch. Thanks to all for the advice. Apparently I'm staring down the barrel of an approximate $1000 repair bill but I can't have her just sitting in the driveway. I'll keep everyone posted.

Go over to the 1100 forum and get ahold of Tim B and save a ton of money.
