Backup Fuse???

Can anyone out there tell me what the "backup fuse" is in the V-Star 950 fuse box (see attached from owners manual)?

Is this the same as "accessories", or does this actually back up some other fuse in the fuse box?

I am wondering if I can wire stereo amp into this so that amp will only be on when key is on?

The backup fuse supplies power to the clock at all times. So you can not use it for something that you want on only when the key is on.

Called my dealer, they did not know, so called Star Motorcycles Customer Service and they advised "backup fuse" is for the odometer.

Close thread.

You mean it's not for my reverse lights?

No, not the reverse lights, it's for your reverse alarm. You know, the thing that goes beep, beep, beep when you are in reverse.
