Windy 950

New 2012 V-Star 950 with no windshield or lower deflectors. It seems I catch a lot more wind on my left side when riding than I do on my right. On cool mornings my left side gets a lot cooler than my right. Am I crazy or has anyone else noticed it?

Well I ride a 2012 950 and from what you are saying I think what you might be noticing is more heat generated on cool mornings on the right due to the exhaust. I often put my hands down on the right side for a quick warm up if its cold out. Maybe it isn't more cold air on the left but less noticeably cold air on the right. The exhaust runs the length of the right side and warms my leg etc. much more on cold mornings. Unless your bike is way different than mine that would be my guess. Enjoy the ride and good choice on the bike!

optimmus,

What you are saying makes sense, but I can look down at my pants and the left leg around my ankle is actually blowing considerably more than my right. It isn't a big deal really just think it's kind of odd. Thanks for the positive reinforcement! I absolutely love this bike. It just seems perfect for my kind of riding - commuting 22 miles daily and then hitting the back roads on the weekend. I hope Ruth (my bike) and I are together for a good long while.

It seemed like it happened no matter which direction I was riding. When the weather gets better I'll see how it feels again.

The 950 consumes so much air rocking out all that horsepower that there is none left to create a breeze on the right side.

Now that makes perfect sense. Don't know why I didn't think of that.
