VStar 1300 vs Stryker

I know they shatre the same CC motor, but is the tuning the same? My dad has a Stryker, and I love riding that thing. Even more-so than my Ironhorse. Its quick and VERY easy to ride! Im thinkin about trading off my Star 1100 and upgrading to a 1300, or juggling the stable all together LOL..
I love my garage right now!!

Nice garage!

It is my understanding the Stryker is tweaked a bit more than the V Star in the engine department. But there are plenty of things you can do to the 1300 to tweak it also. Intake, fuel processor, and pipes will make it fly.

I am in the same boat but looking at the strat over the raider... Rode my dads raider love the get up and go but I don't like the chopperish looks of the raider. I would imagine there isn't much differance from the two on the 1300 side as well. They use all the same stock numbers for motor replacement parts.

Im also looking at a Raider because I like the chopper-ish looks, and it will ride and handle about 100X better than my current chopper. But to swing a Raider, both bikes would be gone. Not sure I want to do that :/

Im thinking it comes down to ECU tuning from the factory. Once you throw on pipes and a controller with a good map, its an even playing field aside from weight.

VStar 1300 vs Stryker

Also looking at a much larger engine in the raider compared to the 1300

Agreed on that theres not much differance to me that yamaha would change things minus the actual frame the bike is riding on.

Ken if you look for used you can find them all day for a decent amount. I am probably going to have to use all my tax return plus let my 1100 go to get the one I want without going overboard. However, the 3k the dealer offered me I laughed all the way out the door for my 1100... Being an ex sales guy I got his ploy and even starting the bike I was looking at didn't even work. When I mentioned the fact that he had had it for a few months now he smiled and said yeah but it will go sooner or later. I then brought up craigslist and cycle trader on my phone ... I was looking at an 08 strat and found 10 in the area 2k cheaper and said if you want to deal now heres where we are at he took the bate I took my keys and walked out.

Play hard ball I walk period act like a damn fool and low ball someone as well same thing.
