1988 Yamaha 250 route 66

Hi everyone, Need a little knowledge help. My grandson picked up one yesterday.( his first bike) Low mileage and just gone over and new tires, carb rebuilt. excellent shape. From what little I understand they basely the same as VStar 250. Anyone remember them? Are they difficult to work on? I assume parts might be a problem down the road.

Thanks Jack

Probably not much available as far as aftermarket accessories but it looks like you can still get most OEM parts. Try bikebandit.com or cheapcycleparts.com if you need something.

As far as working on it, there shouldn't be anything too difficult about it. Mechanically, it looks pretty similar to the later model V-Star 250.

Almost all the yamaha 250s viragos n vstars Route 66 are pretty much all the same. They followed the same design threw out the years, there may not be a big difference.
