What's a performance K&N filter s'posed to sound like?

Hey, just got my 950T back from the shop. They installed a PCV with K&N filter. When I ride it, I can hear an air sucking sound. Is this normal? I assume it would be since the filter probably draws more air in. I'm just not used to hearing it. If I need to take it back to the shop, I'll be irritated.

My 1600 sounds like it's going to suck my pants into the filter. It reminds me of some enormous, seething, pit-viper...but it's not a lung since it's continuous. Either way, I pretend like it's that super charger on the police cars in the original Mad Max movies.
