This piece fell out when jetting my carbs and I have no idea what it is.

Took the carbs off the bike and shimmed the needles. Super easy, no problems. But when I pulled the cover off the second carb (left side, throttle attached to side) this piece fell out when I removed the cover. No idea what it is and I can't find it in the manual. Can some please tell me what it is and where it goes? thanks guys

Here is a diagram and parts list for the carbs on your exact bike. I love this website, cause you blow up the diagrams really big.

It looks like there is a small piece of pipe that is a spacer for a bracket on the outside of the carbs. I bet that's it.

That is a sleeve that goes inside the hole on the diaphragm cover for the rear carb. Number 22 on the aforementioned diagram. This gives the screw something besides plastic to torque down on, so it will stay tight. It is the hole that has the choke cable bracket (if memory serves). All of this is assuming I correctly identified the piece in your hand.
